Blackreach Prison
Blackreach is the most notorious and unforgiving prison in the realm. Until now, it was well-known that no one escapes Blackreach — ever. It is where the most dangerous and vile criminals, along with monstrous creatures, are sent to be forgotten. Many of the world’s kingdoms even pay Cinderforge to house their most dangerous prisoners there, ensuring they will never see the light of day again.
The prison is overseen by the Warden, a massive Goliath towering over ten feet tall. He wields Dragon’s Bane, a legendary battleaxe with untold magical properties. The Warden took immense pride in his perfect record — not a single prisoner had ever escaped under his watch. Whether this claim was true or simply believed out of fear, no one had dared to challenge it.
The island itself is as dangerous as the prison. Powerful beasts, specially trained to track and capture escapees, roam the rocky terrain. Even if a prisoner manages to slip past the guards, the island’s creatures ensure that freedom remains nothing more than a fleeting dream. Blackreach is not just a prison — it is a death sentence.
After the Battle of the World Tree, surviving members of the resistance were swiftly imprisoned within the harrowing walls of Blackreach Prison. It would seem that this would be the catalyst for the prison’s first mass-escapee event to date.Rusty Ruddleson, a member of Druecia’s Finest, would crash through the ceiling of the prison with the assistance of Glimby, who was obliterated upon impact.
The event would cause complete chaos within the prison, with prisoners using the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attempt escape or kill their oppressors.
Several members of Druecia’s Finest managed to escape, ruining The Warden’s perfect record.
The state of the prison today is currently unknown.
