Accrington is a relatively new settlement located to the east of Honos (also known as Shadowkeep), marking the first major push into lands long claimed by the Spiritkin tribes. Though large-scale conflict has not yet broken out, tensions simmer beneath the surface. Skirmishes and minor clashes between settlers and Spiritkin warbands have become increasingly common.

Despite growing unrest, Honos, backed by the full might of the Druecian Empire, has no intention of halting its expansion. The neighboring dwarves of Highspire have openly condemned the encroachment on Spiritkin territory, but their protests carry little weight. Honos knows that with the Empire’s support, it can act without fear of retaliation from Highspire or its allies.

The city of Accrington itself is nestled on the edge of a stunning lake—once the site of a massive crater, now filled with freshwater from the eastern mountain range. The surrounding region is lush and fertile, allowing for both fishing and livestock herding to thrive.

Fish forms the backbone of Accrington’s cuisine, with unique dishes that often surprise visiting travelers. Many outsiders experience a degree of culture shock when faced with the city’s distinctive, fish-based meals. Beyond the rivers, herders raise large flocks of sheep in the surrounding hills, adding to the region’s prosperity.

Given the city’s precarious position on the edge of contested land, Accrington is heavily fortified, with several military outposts and garrisons stationed nearby to defend against potential Spiritkin attacks. While it remains a growing symbol of human ambition and imperial reach, its future hangs in the balance—teetering between progress and conflict.
