The southern colonies have been steadily expanding into the western forests, using the untouched land as a vital source of lumber to quickly construct new settlements. While the colonies are not yet fully self-sufficient and still rely on trade from Druecia, each year brings them closer to independence — and with it, the ability to push further into the continent.
Enforcing laws in the colonies remains difficult, but the mayors of the smaller villages have managed to keep order by directing blame toward the Tabaxi people of Vesh-Tarra. This tactic has proven especially effective in the northern colony settled within the Umbra-Heart Jungle, where resentment toward the Tabaxi runs deep. The colony recently completed a massive dam project to clean the lake and rivers that supply the southern colonies. They blame the Tabaxi for years of neglect, citing the thick overgrowth of seaweed and plants from the jungle that flow into the river.
With growing confidence and resources, the colonies have begun setting their sights further north and west, slowly but steadily staking their claim on the continent.
