Paw’Merra is the capital of the once-great Vesh-Tarra Empire, located on the southern edge of the Umbra-Heart Jungle. The city’s inhabitants, primarily Tabaxi and Lizardfolk, deeply worship the World Tree, believing it connects all life through its roots.
In recent years, many have fled to Paw’Merra from the southern parts of the empire, which have been heavily colonized and attacked by humans from Druecia. The Druecians have even begun building new settlements within the Umbra-Heart Jungle, further encroaching on the sacred lands of the Vesh-Tarra.
The people of Paw’Merra have long been known for their peaceful and welcoming nature. They are pacifists who believe in harmony with nature and the guidance of the World Tree. However, tensions have begun to rise. The humans have repeatedly broken land agreements, and frustration is boiling over. Anger is growing in the streets as many citizens demand action to reclaim their lands. Riots have begun, with some calling for war.
Despite the unrest, the city’s leader—a high priest of the World Tree—urges restraint. The priest claims that the World Tree has spoken and wishes for peace, not conflict. But as human expansion continues unchecked, the people of Paw’Merra are torn between honoring the will of the World Tree and defending their homeland.
