Marchwood, often called The Moving Forest, is one of the most mysterious regions in southern Nyvara. Ancient maps reveal that the forest has shifted location over time, suggesting a slow but deliberate migration across the land. Because of this movement, few settlements exist within the forest. The only consistent inhabitants are birdlike and animalistic creatures whose migratory patterns seem to align with the forest’s own rhythm.

Explorers and naturalists who have studied the forest’s strange movements believe the land is inhabited by Ents — ancient, sentient tree-beings that guide the forest’s migration. This would explain the phenomenon of Marchwood seemingly walking across Nyvara over the centuries. However, these findings have been largely silenced by the political leaders of Druecia, who have ambitious plans to colonize the region. Acknowledging the existence of the Ents could lead to public resistance, and they are determined to avoid another political scandal or uprising like those seen in past land grabs.

To preserve their narrative, Druecian officials claim that the old maps were simply misdrawn, or that natural forces such as earthquakes and wind patterns caused the forest’s apparent shifts. They assure their citizens that the land is empty and ripe for expansion — while quietly preparing for its occupation. The truth of the Ents, and the threat of their destruction, is buried behind layers of denial and manipulation.

But outside the polished cities of Druecia, in the rural villages and among wandering traders, rumors persist. Stories spread of ancient trees that walk when no one is watching, of roots that whisper secrets in the wind, and of an Elder Ent — a being older than kingdoms — who has seen visions of the future. According to legend, it is this being who guides the Marchwood away from looming catastrophe. When the forest shifts away from a region, the locals take it as a dark omen, believing danger follows close behind.

To those who have walked among its trees, Marchwood is very much alive.
To the Druecian Empire, it is land to be claimed.
And to the Ents, it is home — one they will protect.
