Known simply as “The Badlands,” this scorched and windswept mesa in southern Nyvara has earned its name for good reason. The region is lawless and deadly, roamed by warring Githyanki tribes who attack any traveler bold — or foolish — enough to cross their territory. Though formidable in combat, the Githyanki often travel in smaller, scattered warbands, frequently clashing with each other and with the orc clans that inhabit the surrounding highlands.
At the heart of the mesa lies a series of towering rock formations arranged in a natural maze, twisting and narrowing into tight corridors of stone. It is whispered that an ancient treasure lies hidden within, but few dare to seek it. The deeper one goes, the more dangerous the land becomes. Massive spiders lurk in the shadows of the rocks, venomous serpents coil beneath the sand, and at night, packs of direwolves prowl in eerie silence.
The creatures of the Badlands are terrifyingly well adapted to the environment. They nest in cracks and crevices, waiting patiently for an unwary soul to stumble into their domain. The land is harsh, dry, and unforgiving — a place where even nature seems to recoil in fear.
According to ancient maps, the region was once part of a great forest. But over the centuries, the trees appear to have migrated westward, as though fleeing from something unseen. Locals whisper that the Badlands are cursed — a place so wicked that even the forest itself refused to remain.
