The Chiktalka live on the southern tip of Yeen, where they have survived for generations by respecting—and fearing—the immense power the island holds. To the Chiktalka, Yeen is not just land, but a living, breathing force of nature. They frequently offer gifts and sacrifices to the jungle in hopes of appeasing its will.

The Chiktalka follow ancient myths that tell of powerful gods, each said to rule over a distinct region of the jungle. Their maps reflect this belief, with different sections of Yeen marked according to the domains of these deities. REDACTED

The Chiktalka are a deeply spiritual and religious people, practicing forms of voodoo, witchcraft, and nature-based magic. They are incredibly in tune with the island’s mood—able to sense when Yeen is calm and when it is filled with rage. Over time, they have witnessed strange and terrifying creatures on the island: towering, man-eating reptiles, enormous insects, and even plants that seem to move and hunt like predators.

In recent years, the Chiktalka have grown increasingly uneasy. Yeen has been angrier than ever, but they do not understand why. They fear something—perhaps an outsider—has disturbed the balance.

The Chiktalka believe that Yeen is not merely an island, but the heart of the realm itself. Its roots stretch deep beneath the sea, connecting to distant lands, feeding and sustaining all life. In their eyes, Yeen lives—and through its roots, it watches the world.
