Before Melvin and Meowfi can leave to the port, Gerard mentions that he has something important to show us in the pit, but also that it will take a day to get there.
- They don’t have time to spare so they ask if there’s a quicker way. He says there is, but it’s much more dangerous
- They decide the dangerous way is the only way.
- After uncovering the hidden entrance, they see a pitch black pit.
- Melvin casts feather fall and they all jump into the pit.

Thraine is reliving his worst memories.
- Thraine is in Novastra, learning in the Elven war. The professor claims that the Elves were the aggressors and had it coming.
- After more dreams, Thraine returns to Wynara. He’s being taught to ride wyverns.

Melvin, Meowfi, and Gerard plummet with feather fall.
- Before it runs out, Melvin and Meowfi grab onto the wall. Gerard nosedives down into the abyss.
- Meowfi notices Wiener on her shoulder.

Thraine dreams again. He’s speaking to his father, Axegrinder.
- Axegrinder inspires Thraine to take control of his life. He awakes to find the Wyvern kneeling to him. It appears to trust him now.
- Thraine names his wyvern Beardless.
- Thomas’ turn.
- Thraine and Thomas bond.

Meowfi and Melvin use feather fall once more. After more climbing, they notice an increasing amount of vegetation.
- They use the vegetation as an opportunity to rest. They munch up.
- As they munch and crunch, a little critter whizzes past them.

Thomas has a flashback of his younger self.
- Theon is an abusive fucker. He made the brothers go through a dangerous forest.
- In the flashback, we see Thomas shoot his brother Timmy.
- As the flashback ends, Thomas breaks out into tears. Thraine comforts him.
- “I was only trying to protect them. I was gonna lose them both”

Melvin and Meowfi have been climbing forever. Melvin screams to see if he can echolocate the bottom of the pit.
- The screaming annoys this mole man. He pops out to say shut up.
- The mole man laughs at them for climbing. He says it’s perfectly safe to jump down.
- Melvin says for him to do it first.
- The mole man takes his wife and kids down for a family trip.
- Melvin and Meowfi are convinced, so they jump down and are completely safe.
- At the bottom, they find Gerard waiting for them.
- They climb the roots of the world tree looking for evidence to take to the StoneFang Leader.
- Melvin’s backpack glows. It’s surely the fruit of the world tree.
- He doesn’t want to give up that he has this fruit, but might have to.

Thomas successfuly tames his wyvern. Names it Golden Boy.
- They fly down to Paw’merra
- Many other, smaller wyverns follow them. It appears to be hundreds.
- They arrive with a day and a half left before the attack.
- The tree is massive. It goes into the clouds.
- As they land, they see tabaxi lining up for their arrival on the ground. They’re fascinated by the wyverns.
- Thraine and Thomas are greeted by a tabaxi boy named Toasty Littlefoot and an older tabaxi Moman Longtail.
- They know nothing of the looming attack.
- Momen takes them to the Paw’Merran leader, and explains how he taken in orphaned tabaxi.
- Toasty is fascinated by the wyverns.
- Eventually they make it to King Almo Scruff.

Melvin and Meowfi decide they have to use the glowing fruit in tandem with pieces of bark from the World Tree.
- Now the question is how to return up.
- Melvin would rather kill himself than climb back up.
- Gerard knows of a quick way but it’s apparently incredibly painful.
- They all jump into this puddle on the ground.
- A creature shoots us out of his blowhole extremely turbo fast.
- Melvin and Meowfi barely maintain consciousness. Meowfi catches Melvin as they land.
- Gerard thuds straight into the ground. He’s not conscious.
- Melvin plays him a song.
- Gerard is fucked up beyond all recognition but starts to sing along.
- As they sing, Melvin and Meowfi notice several airships parked in the StoneFang Clan.

Thraine speaks with King Scruff.
- Thraine warns of the oncoming attack meow meow.
- As they discuss, Chaka Khan pipes up. He asks why they should believe Thraine.
- Thraine claims that Thomas being there as well as having the wyvern’s trust is proof enough.
- The King instructs everyone to prepare. He tells Chaka Khan to get “The Rat”.

- Lucky and Thraine talk. They head out to the tree.
- Lucky speaks of how the tree can defend itself with its roots. It’s not defenseless completely and is protected by Druids.
- Thraine inspects the tree. Immediately, he feels its power surge within him. His hammer begins to glow.

Melvin heals Gerard before they head over to check out the airships.
- As they approach, a strange man starts yelling at them.
- Rusty didn’t introduce himself properly so Melvin starts to bicker with him.
- Meowfi introduces Rusty to Melvin.
- Rusty had heard about their plan to head to the orc villages, so he got his dad’s help in gathering a bunch of pilots together.
- Before speaking with the StoneFang Leader, Melvin retrieves Gerard.
- After pleading their case with the leader, he agrees to help in the fight ahead.
