Honos, often referred to as the Shadowkeep, is the second most powerful kingdom in the Empire of Druecia and serves as its industrial powerhouse. The people of Honos are fiercely proud, believing that their kingdom is the rightful heart of the empire. Many argue that the capital should have been established in the Shadowkeep itself, given Honos’s vital contributions.

Honos supplies the vast majority of steel and manufactured goods used by the other kingdoms to wage war and expand their dominion. During the brutal war against Neathshara and the elven forces, it was Honos that bore the heaviest burden—shedding the most blood, leading the most battles, and ultimately conquering the crystalline forest. It was also Honos who delivered the final blow that ended elven resistance in Neathshara.

However, when the time came to decide the future of the empire, the other kingdoms voted to place Autumngrove in the seat of leadership. Furthermore, the territories Honos had claimed in the crystalline forest were handed over to the newly independent Novastra, stripping Honos of what it believed was its rightful reward. Seeing diminishing benefit in holding the remote lands of Neathshara, the leaders of Honos ultimately relinquished control, but resentment remains strong.

Though there is a growing desire for independence, Honos is geographically surrounded and cannot afford to sever ties with the empire without risking trade collapse or open war. For now, Honos remains loyal—but the more the empire demands from them in materials and manpower for wars across the realm, the more its citizens seethe under the rule of Autumngrove, believing it is Honos, not Autumngrove, that should rightfully lead the Empire of Druecia.
